Who is responsible
This website, owhy Studio at oskarwang.com, is run by Oskar Wang, photographer, based in the Netherlands and Czechia. For anything related to your personal data, write to oskarwang@proton.me. Postal address: [add your business address here].
The short version
This site collects as little as possible. There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies and no social media embeds. Fonts are served from this domain, so opening the site does not send your data to any font provider. The only personal data processed is what you choose to send through the contact or booking form.
What is processed, and why
- Enquiries and bookings. When you use the contact or booking form, your name, email address, and the details you write (such as a preferred date or message) are used to answer you and to arrange the shoot. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Hosting logs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like almost every host, GitHub may record IP addresses in technical server logs for security and abuse prevention. The legal basis is legitimate interest in running the site safely, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Sound preference. If you mute or unmute the interface sounds, that choice is stored in your own browser (local storage, key "owhy-sound"). It never leaves your device and it is not used to identify you. Because it exists only to provide a function you asked for, it needs no consent banner.
Who receives data
- Formspree, Inc. (United States) processes form submissions on my behalf and forwards them to my email. See the Formspree privacy policy.
- GitHub, Inc. (United States) hosts the site as GitHub Pages. See the GitHub privacy statement.
Where these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, they rely on safeguards recognised under EU law, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy framework. No data is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.
How long data is kept
Enquiry correspondence is kept for up to twelve months after our last exchange, then deleted. Records that belong to a confirmed booking, such as invoices, are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, a portable copy, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Just email oskarwang@proton.me.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Czech Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, or the authority in your own country.
Photographs of people
Some photographs in the portfolio show people. Commissioned work appears only with the client's permission. If a photograph shows you and you would like it taken down, email me and I will respond quickly and kindly. No photograph is worth someone's discomfort.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, ships a strict content security policy, loads nothing from advertising or tracking networks, and stores no personal data of its own. Form submissions travel encrypted to Formspree and onward to my mailbox.

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date above.

Use of this website
Every photograph and text on this site is protected by copyright and belongs to Oskar Wang unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to browse and to share links. Copying, downloading, publishing, or using the photographs in any other way requires prior written permission. Prints and licenses are available, see the Prints page or simply ask.
Enquiries and bookings
Sending the booking form is a request, not a contract. A booking exists once I confirm the date and the details in writing, usually by email. The prices on the rate card are honest and current, and the total for your shoot is agreed before the booking is confirmed. Any deposit, rescheduling window, or cancellation terms are agreed in that same written confirmation, so there is never fine print you have not seen.
Your right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract. For services booked for a specific date, such as an event or a scheduled shoot, EU law allows this withdrawal right to be limited. Where that applies, it will be stated clearly in the booking confirmation before you commit.
Delivery and your license
Edited photographs are delivered through a private online gallery. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you receive a personal use license: print them, share them, frame them, enjoy them. Commercial use, resale, or entering them into competitions requires a separate written license. Copyright in the photographs stays with the photographer, as is standard in photography. Your photographs appear in my portfolio only with your permission.
If something goes wrong
I take real care with every shoot and every gallery. Still, this website is provided as is, and to the extent mandatory law allows, liability for indirect damage from using the site is excluded. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing removes protections that consumer law gives you in your country of residence.
Governing law
These terms and any booking are governed by the law of the country where the photographer is established for that booking, the Netherlands or Czechia, as stated in the booking confirmation. If you are a consumer, you always keep the mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and disputes can be brought before your local courts where the law provides for it.

If these terms change, the new version appears here with a new date above. The terms that apply to a booking are the ones in force when the booking was confirmed.
